Pre-production
In the pre-production of my opening title sequence we used
the internet to research what we had to include in the opening title sequence
in order to gain the best marks and achieve well. By doing this, I was able to
identify what I needed to include in order receiving high marks. The internet further
aided the pre-production of my opening title sequence because of websites like
YouTube and Weebly, which enabled me to view previous opening title sequences
to see where they did well and to see where I could include these in my own
opening title sequence. In contrast, I was also able to see what made a opening
title sequence loose marks, and was able to avoid putting these in my own
opening title sequence.
Production
I used multiple examples of technology in the production of
my opening title sequence with the use of a 700D camera, which we used to film
the sequence. The camera is a very sophisticated piece of equipment which
allowed me to film the sequence to a high standard. As a result it made the
sequence look visually attractive to view, as there were no parts of the
sequence which were blurred or out of focus when you expect them to be in
focus. I also recorded sound which was
implemented into the opening title sequence as foley, we did this by using the
technology in a music studio to record and adjust the sound in order to fit to
be suitable for my opening title sequence. As a result of using the music
studio I was able to gain more marks, proving that the use of the technology in
the production of the foley was significant.
Post production
During the post production process the use of technology was
significant as it allowed me to edit the opening title sequence using advanced
editing software (Adobe After Effects). This piece of software allowed me to
implement a range of editing effects into the title sequence such as fades,
jump cuts and text effects at the end. As a result of this, I was able to gain
marks through use of a range of editing techniques thanks to technology used in
editing the in the opening title sequence. I also used technology in the
evaluation of my opening title sequence. This was because it was requested by
the examine board in order to gain more marks. I used Pintrest, Prezi,
Slideshare, Lino It, Kizoa and I recorded my own directors commentary using my
own camera and editing software at home. As a result of using a vast range of
technology in my evaluation, I made it look visually appealing and
professional, as well as developing my knowledge of all the different
technologies online.
I also used social websites such as facebook and twitter in
order to gain feedback from people on what they thought of my opening title
sequence. Therefore, I could use this information to adjust my opening title
sequence in a way that was necessary to make it appeal to my target audience.
It will be really important when you answer this exam question (Section A: Question 1) that you are more specific regarding the technology you used eg what version was adobe after effects? Why did you choose this rather than premiere pro? What computers did you use for the sound? What programme did you use? You used a professional 416 mic when using the Canon 700D camera - this is worth a mention. Also mention Skype and blogger!
